TiVo Hardware

Tivo is a Digital Video Recorder or Personal Video Recorder that makes it possible for anyone to record Television signals via satellite, cable or digital TV. The Tivo box works like a small computer using a open source Linux operating system. TiVo systems are able to perform a variety of specialized utilities that other PVR systems can not.

Pause live TV

The most basic Tivo function is the ability to pause live TiVo. This feature is commonly available in most PVR systems but with Tivo you can pause live TV for up to a half hour allowing you to never miss a second of the TiVo shows you watch regardless of the mini-emergency that might come up.  TiVo can record any show whether you are in or out of the living room.

Replay TV

When your ready to resume watching your show, simply hit play and viola your show will continue right where you left off. The TiVo system will continue to record the program right until the end of the scheduled program.

Remember to tape programs

Say you want to tape a program at a time when you won’t be at home, the TiVo system can learn to record your desired programs. You are able to teach the TiVo system which types of shows or sporting events you would like to record in the future.

Fast forward

Finally, you can fast forward through those annoying commercials.

Play in slow motion

With TiVo you can replay your favorite sports move or TV show in slow motion or you can choose to replay any scene at regular speed.

Incredible storage

TiVo systems are like computers with a built-in hard drives, that can record between 80 to 140-hour of television programs.

Parental control over TV programs

Using TiVo you can control the programs your kids watch by setting up a password locking system.
